DVD Review: Jillian Michaels Yoga Meltdown
In this DVD, Jillian introduces some basic yoga moves while incorporating interval training to make this yoga workout unique. This is certainly not your traditional yoga DVD. Unlike traditional yoga, you move in and out of each pose for 10 repititions with the intention of burning more calories and building strength. This is exactly what I liked about it. It incorporated yoga basics with a Jillian Michaels twist. This DVD proved to me that yoga can be fun and calming, while building strength AND burning calories in workout that would make me sweat.
Each of the two 30 minute workouts contain fast paced flow sequences incorporating power yoga to traditional poses. She includes modifications for beginners as well as more advanced variations for the more experienced yogi. This DVD is good for yoga beginners and those who have dabbled a bit within their practice. Jillian gives good instructions to each pose and and focuses on form and alignment. For those with minimal fitness experience, this DVD can certainly be challenging. I found Jillian to be much more tolerable in this DVD than in her earlier ones. She appears to soften her hard approach a bit as a yogi.
So, on my famous binary rating system, this DVD gets a 1. I’ll see you on the mat!
